The Junior Mountaineers Club is a summer merit badge program for kids ages 7-12 years old.

This program is designed to provide you another option for your kid to spend their time that isn't computers, television, screens, ipads, or video games. In fact the entire program is SCREEN FREE. Your child won't need a phone or a computer to complete any of the merit badges, or to communicate with Club Headquarters to request their club patches. It's all run through snail mail.

The Junior Mountaineers was created with the belief that kids need as much nature as possible for their own happiness and well-being.

The merit badges are designed to get your kid into nature, reading, exploring, trying new things, making messes in the kitchen, spending time outside, moving their bodies, building new habits, going on adventures, setting goals, challenging themselves, being brave, and conquering mountians.

The merit badges fall into the following categories:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Health & Fitness
  • Home & Hygge
  • Kitchen
  • Nature
  • Mischief
  • Reading
  • Self-Reliance
  • Service
  • Spiritual

After you purchase the membership for your child we will email you within a few business days with a form to fill out so we have your child's name, birthday, and mailing address.

Your child will get the summer merit badge workbook in the mail before Memorial Day. The club starts May 27th and ends on September 2nd. (Memorial Day to Labor day - 99 days of summer!)

The workbook will help them know all they need to do participate in the club and earn merit badges.

As they mark off merit badges that they earn, they will qualify for special limited edition summer patches. These summer patches will be mailed out throughout the summer. The post cards to request these special patches will be found in the workbook. Your Junior Mountaineer should be able to do it all on their own!
